Seek Refuge In God's Protection

By Jill Daniels
I know, I know--you are hearing a lot from Beth Moore lately.
It’s because I get so much from her Bible studies I just have to share them! She isn’t only a gifted writer but a divine connector. I truly believe that God divinely puts words in her head to write to me in days that I need to hear them loud and clear. Her humility in where she has been, and her being in Christ, is the perfect platform for me to hear her without feeling condemned. So listen to this excerpt from her study:

“When we live under the umbrella of God’s authority and seek to obey His commands, the enemy may oppose us and even oppress us, but he cannot thwart the fulfillment of God’s plan for our lives. Any permission he receives to oppose us will only be issued for the greater victory of God. Death cannot come to the obedient children of God until they have finished their testimony. When we surrender our wills to the will of our Father, we find a place of blessed immunity. Strengthened by His power and shielded by His protection, we will reach our goal.”

This is so comforting to me! Anything that Satan has on us is because God has sanctioned it to bring Himself more glory! Those times when I feel like I’m being brought down are only so that my walk with God can be brought higher. How encouraging! Beth then pointed towards this Scripture, which speaks personally to all of us!

“I call upon You, for You will answer me, O God; incline Your ear to me; hear my words. Wondrously show Your steadfast love, O Savior of those who seek refuge from their adversaries at your right hand. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings, from the wicked who do me violence, my deadly enemies who surround me.”
(Psalm 17:6-9)

I love the picture of God protecting us. Isn’t it beautiful? We get to hide underneath His wings. He holds our hands. He knows us and listens to us. He will redeem us from the pit of destruction. I love this picture.

Just a little snapshot of God’s protection for this wonderful Thursday.

God, I thank you for your protection from our enemy. I know that because you have given me your Holy Spirit to live inside me that you are more powerful than any evil. I pray that you would help me to remember this Spirit and the power that it gives me in times where I feel powerless. I pray that in the times where I am being brought down that you would remind me that you promise to bring me through every circumstance to make me an even better form of myself. You are so good! Thank you.

Amen.
