"Then they believed his promises and sang his praise.
But they soon forgot what he had done
and did not wait for his counsel.
In the desert, they gave in to their craving;
in the wasteland they put God to the test.
So he gave them what they asked for,
but sent a wasting disease upon them" (v. 12-15).
Awhile ago, we talked about why it is so important to our faith walk to constantly remember all that God has done, as well as God's unchanging character. Amidst our busy days, it is easy to forget. We wander, get involved in new, exciting things...and sooner than we know, we are complaining again.
Today's outpouring is to take some time to remember what God has done in your past. Sit still for a few moments and ask Him to open your mind to recall. Journal. Pray. Shout praise! Worship Him for his movement in your life. And then ask Him to use these memories in the present time--to shape and inform the here and now.
Why is it important to remember? What is God asking you to remember today?
