Identity Embrace: True or False

True or False: What other people say about you is absolutely accurate.

True or False: What you read in the newspaper holds no bias.

True or False: What God claims you to be is the truth.

Of all the above statements, I'd suffice it to say that only the third is true in all its forms.  And this is a breath of fresh air for a world that is constantly slammed by  inaccuracies, dishonesty and false claims.

It's more than a breath of fresh air -- it is freedom.

Taken from the NLT Life Application Bible, here are some of the identity claims God speaks over you, right now, today:

You are justified. (Romans 3:24)

No condemnation awaits you. (Romans 8:1)

You are pure and holy in Christ. (1 Corinthians 1:30)

You are a new person. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

You are adopted as God's child. (Ephesians 1:5,6)

You are God's masterpiece. (Ephesians 2:10) <--A favorite truth, I must admit!

You share in the promise of Christ. (Ephesians 3:6)

You can come with freedom and confidence into God's presence. (Ephesians 3:12)

You are set free from your sinful nature. (Colossians 2:11)

You will have eternal glory. (2 Timothy 2:10)

[Read these verses in context, too...much more is revealed!]

Dear Father, Settle these truths on our hearts and minds today.  May we forever know, not just in our heads, but down deeply in our hearts, that You love us this much.  May that truth transform us, affect our daily actions, and grant us understanding and wisdom about what it means to be yours.  May we rest in the only truth that gives genuine freedom from the weight of the world.  Amen!

Which of these identity traits most speaks to you today?  Do you have any to add?
