He said, when it comes to facing the giants in our own lives, we have only to look to David as an example.
Ask yourself these questions about overcoming a giant in your life:
ONE: What would it be like on the other side of the challenge? What would that feel like? Seeing the other side, the victory, gives us hope!
TWO: What is this stronghold that it should defy the living God? God becomes intimately involved with our battles because He is the living, breathing God! You never face the giant alone.
THREE: What are the different methods and tools God has equipped me with to overcome the stronghold? Just as David used a sling and stone, God gives us our own tools, be it wise counsel, past example, or other methods. Pray to receive the equipment God has for you.
And watch your giant fall! God's timing is more important than ours, of course, but with God all things are possible. Your identity is founded in the One who is more than able to overcome death, itself--and therefore any obstacle in your own life!
Which of these resonates with you? What stronghold is God wanting to overcome today in your life?
