Courtesy of freedigitalphotos.netMaybe you are afraid of the unknown future.
Maybe you are afraid of the past.
Maybe you are afraid of a personal limitation, a thorn in your side.
Maybe you are afraid of people: their opinions, critiques, and harsh words.
Maybe you are afraid of consequences for your actions.
Maybe you are simply afraid, but you do not know why.
It seems we ladies have all dealt with these fears (and perhaps we could even add to this list), and we know what it feels like to be afraid.
Aren't you over this whole "being afraid" thing?
In beginning a new book last night, I read about the desires of our hearts--the very core of our being that makes us fully woman, created in God's perfect image. No fear. Romance, adventure, and purpose. Absolutely no room for fear.
Today, let us reflect on 1 John 4:16-19:
"Everyone who confesses that Jesus is God's Son participates continuously in an intimate relationship with God. We know it so well, we've embraced it heart and soul, this love that comes from God. 17-18God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us. This way, love has the run of the house, becomes at home and mature in us, so that we're free of worry on Judgment Day—our standing in the world is identical with Christ's. There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life—fear of death, fear of judgment—is one not yet fully formed in love. 19We, though, are going to love—love and be loved. First we were loved, now we love. He loved us first (The Message)."
Let us embrace as our identities that Love has the run of our lives! When Love has the run of the house, there is absolutely no room for fear. We are His vessel, made complete in Love.
What other fears can you call out in the name of God's Love?
