Friday's Funday: Summer Beauty Tips

It's gonna be a long, hot summer...

Anyone else love rocking Keith Urban's "Long, Hot Summer" with the windows rolled down?

I was recounting to my roommate the other day about how, in the summer months, I stand opposed to using my hair dryer.  I figure, with the natural heat as sweltering as it is, there really is no need for me to raise my body temperature by another fifty degrees...

...but that leaves me having to prep sans-sculpted hair.  And when I'm running out the door in the morning, I also desire a beauty routine that is fast, easy, and uses a limited amount of products.

Is anyone else ready to say a friendly, temporary "au revoir" to their hair dryer?  Check out these tips on Beauty Prep for Hot Summer Days:

ONE: Headbands and ponytails rock.  I have been reading this article in so many magazines lately!  Instead of overheating by blow-drying your hair, prepare your locks with anti-frizz serum, gather in a ponytail or bun, and secure a cute, stylish headband to hold back strays.

TWO: Use a lightweight make-up primer.  With the heat approaching the 100 degree mark around the country, you can bet your bottom dollar you'll be sweating!  To avoid "make-up melt", use a primer after you moisturize.  Make sure to let it dry completely before continuing with powder of any sort.

THREE: Stick with natural, earthy, foolproof tones.  Of course, your make-up palette of choice will depend on your skin tone and coloring, but applying a neutral, sun-kissed bronzer is sure to flatter any skin tone.  Sandy eyeshadow groupings will also contribute to a more natural look.

FOUR: Save your skin with flair.  Kill two birds with one stone by using make-up that already has SPF in the formula.  Primer, bronzer, and lipstick or lipgloss with SPF will protect you from sun damage caused by harmful rays.  Save time and effort by not having to apply facial SPF later on in the day.

A few more tips:
Carry a mini travel-sized deodorant in your purse for quick clean-up.
Tote a package of fresh towelettes for face and body.
Oil-blotting sheets are a sweaty girl's best friend.
Bring along your favorite body spray for an extra clean spritz (but don't overdo it!).

What are your favorite summer products?  What seems to beat the heat?

Happy Friday, and have a blessed weekend full of fun, discovery, rest, and LOVE.
