Saturday's Quotation

"I have heard it said that Christianity is nothing but a crutch for the weak. My objection to that metaphor is that it's not strong enough! Christianity is more than simply a crutch. It's a lifeline to the drowning, it's oxygen to the suffocating, it's hope for the hopeless, it's salvation for the broken and lost. When the illusion of self-sufficiency blinds us, God gets pushed to the periphery. But when our eyes are opened once again to our state of helplessness, we find our way back to depending on God--which is
the very life He always intended for us."
Philip Carlson, You Were Made For Love
