The Power of Yes

2 Corinthians 1:18-22, ESV "As surely as God is faithful, our word to you has not been Yes and No.19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we proclaimed among you, Silvanus and Timothy and I, was not Yes and No, but in him it is always Yes.20 For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory. 21 And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, 22 and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee."

What a week.  My dear sisters, have you encountered trials of various kinds in this past week?  My answer is an absolute "yes".  These past days, I have physically felt the pruning shears of the Father working on me, stripping me of the dead branches so that I can ultimately bear fruit.  This hurts, that is no lie!  The circumstances we find ourselves in can be deeply painful at times.  Good thing we rest assured that God is a loving Father, disciplining us and growing fruit in us, even when our circumstances are much too difficult to understand.

God poured out this Scripture upon me this morning.  He says Yes to me.  He says Yes to you.  Our Heavenly perfect Father never refuses His children.  "For all the promises of God find their Yes in Him."  I have found myself in a whirlwind of questions, perhaps most of which will never find answers.  But I am newly encouraged, and ignited with a passion, for the truth that God's Promises are always YES!  Isn't that beautiful, relieving, and oh so faithful of Him?  Thank you, God, for Your promise of Yes.  Thank You for receiving Your Children, no matter the state or condition.  In You, we find faithfulness and a promise that will never fail us.

How has God revealed His "Yes" to you as of late?

  1. Lately I have had a lot going on my life; in the last couple of days or so I have been asking questions that all boil down to "why?" I have been continuously asking God for peace and clarity, and in that instant I have felt it. God has been teaching me so much about control lately, and your blog post is definitely interesting!
