Perfect, Establish, Strengthen & Settle

Ok, ladies.  I am busting at the seam with the desire to share an image that the Lord placed in my mind this morning, in great hope that perhaps some of you, too, need the same encouragement I received from Him.  I am overcome with great hope and expectation today of the things God has planned for us all--and the magnificent ways that they will be carried out, if only we allow Him our hearts and willingness.  The joy of freedom makes me want to shout and sing!  Anyone else feel that way?

Anyway, as I was spending some time in quiet, this image came into my mind: I am walking (nowhere in particular), and as I am going about, the Holy Spirit is encircling me with Himself.  He is in front of me, on my right, on my left, bringing up the rear, underneath me, and above me.  It's like He is my personal wall of protection.  And He is swirling around me, active as ever!  He is working on my behalf and encasing me with His perfection and glory.  Crazy, right?  But maybe it's not so crazy, because the Word tells us that the Holy Spirit is our Helper:

John 14:16-17, ESV  "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you..."

Rest assured this morning that, whatever trouble or obstacle or nerve-racking situation you are facing, you are not alone.  That is a promise.  The Counselor is with you, all around you, and in you, if you would only release ownership of your life over to the God who cares for it best.  My prayer is that we would let go of the weights tying us down, the things of our past, the struggles to "get it all right", or the worries of the future and run the race with perseverance.  Let's allow the Helper to take us over.

Whew!  This was an impromptu post, so I'm done for now.  But stay tuned for a very exciting NEW post happening later today...an interview with Miss Katie Farrell, creator of Dashing Dish!  She has a lot to tell us about the faithfulness of God.  Yet another thing over which I'm busting at the seams...

  1. I love this image of God all around us. I was thinking of this just the other day. I've been in the Psalms a lot lately, and in Psalms 3, he says, "Lord how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him." But you, Lord are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain.." - I heard a pastor in a podcast say that there were only certain types of armor that David would have worn. And that this particular type of shield that he refers God to, is in fact a circular shield, one that wraps around the body - meant to take him into the worst type of danger - but built for the highest level for protection. I thought that was neat - and very relevant to your verse from John. We may face anything in this life - but God is all around us/with us every step.
